Meet the new Belter 24

Ready for more challenging city rides, this 24" bike is built with a lightweight aluminum frame and updated geometry for superior stability and handling. Featuring a Shimano Nexus 8-speed internal hub, shifting is smooth and reliable, while the Tektro hydraulic disc brakes provide precise stopping power in any condition. The low-maintenance 12mm belt drivetrain, sealed bearing wheels, and Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 2.0" tires offer durability and comfort. With smaller diameter grips and kid-friendly gearing, this bike is perfect for young riders ready to take on the urban jungle with confidence.

Disappointed purchase. Belt makes sound due to defect.

This is my third Early Rider belter. I have purchased the 16” and 20” versions before. The 24” belter uses a different brand belt which is much harder and stiffer compared to the Gates belt on the smaller versions. The belt clearly has a defect which is causing an annoying sound. I received a replacement belt from Early Rider with the same defect.

They are telling me that it rather is an alignment issue instead of a defective belt issue. The sound isn’t constant though and only caused my the defective areas of the belt.

Early Rider hasn’t proposed any decent solution to solve this issue after sending them several e-mails. A big disappointment!

Hi Vincent, I understand you are talking with Jake. Have you fitted the replacement belt as advised? The belts we use on the 24' bikes need to be stronger than those used for the 16' and 20' - there's a different load and strain level. The belt is not necessarily defective, but as Jake has said it's possible the belt on the original bike had been folded and kinked - see if the replacement belt resolves the issue. Keep in contact with Jake while you get resolution.

Great bike for commuting

This is a great bike for commuting, especially if the kids are supposed to bike several kilometres per day. Build quality is very good, and most components are of good quality as well.
The bike could however be improved by including the mudguard attachment points present on the 20" version of the same bike. A further very useful add-on would be the inclusion of a hub dynamo, which for a low added cost would greatly improve the bike for daily commuting. After I added mudguards and dynamo lights myself, the bike is actually worth more than 5 Stars.
